Photography at the London Stock Exchange for Irish Client
Over the years Piranha has taken a wide variety of event and PR photography for Enterprise Ireland. The coverage is predominantly around business events to support Irish companies expanding into the UK market.
Often the coverage is at the Irish Embassy in London but can be at different locations around the UK, where meetings are being held or trade shows taking place.
London Stock Exchange
On this day the photography required a very early start, as the first event was the opening of The London Stock Exchange for the first time by an Irish Minister.
To get the best images on the morning it is necessary to stand on a small platform, to make sure that The London Stock Exchange logos and client logos appear in the frame, along with the faces of the attendees. This isn’t always easy because of the angle but a brief chat with the PR teams before hand to organise everyone and their positions at the crucial count down moment helps enormously.
The photography required was of the business attendees, the ministers, senior Stock Exchange staff as well as the building itself. Later that morning there were several panel discussions and a lunch on the top floor.
The evening event was held at the Irish Embassy in London, and then later a more formal dinner when speakers including the Irish Ambassador welcomed the guests.
The wide range of images taken on the day provided the client with a broad selection, from which photographs could be chosen to accompany their press release and for posting on LinkedIn.

LinkedIn Post featuring the London Stock Exchange
The below LinkedIn Post features Ireland’s Minister for Financial Services, who is the first Irish government minister to open markets at the London Stock Exchange, marking Ireland Day and the growing innovation partnership between the UK and Ireland’s financial services sectors.

Topics
The opening of the London Stock Exchange along with the big countdown is always an exciting moment, and obviously it’s extremely important to capture the directors and staff of those companies being listed. As the photographer on the day I need to take the pictures fast, move quickly and keep alert to requests for photography from the CEOs and Ambassadors.- Douglas, Photographer
