Misty Morning Photography in Oxford – Lockdown2.0<\/h2>\n

Low light photography<\/h2>\n

As the light levels were so low and everything so dark I felt the sculptural nature of the trees and leaves were most interesting as they emerged from the mist. Black and white gave the shapes a chance to take centre stage. There was so very little in the frame with such a dense cold fog, but the photographs have a simple quietness about them, from the lone bird flying over Port Meadow, to a solitary walker emerging over a footbridge. It was an enjoyable morning’s walk and photography, but I was pleased to find an open coffee shop in Jericho after a few hours on the move.<\/p>\n

Manual focus photography<\/h2>\n

To make life easy, for misty morning photography, manual focus was the simplest and most effective method in these conditions, as the focussing is utterly reliable in the very low contrast conditions, which would in all probability confuse autofocus systems. With a rangefinder camera it is easy to lock on to a spider’s web and see the individual filaments…<\/p>\n
